SATURN (Smart mAritime saTellite terminal for mUltimedia seRvices and conteNts) project will be submitted to ESA inside the Artes 5.2 program.
The project idea consists of designing and developing a multiapplication user terminal and a general platform for the management and dissemination of geo-referenced information to mobile users.
The system combines technologies of information acquisition, processing and their transmission through heterogeneous systems such as DVB-SH, return channel on S-Band and 3G integrated with information from the user's location (using GPS, EGNOS, Galileo localization systems).
